2 Jul – According to a report by Entertainment Weekly website, Disney and Marvel Studios are planning to release a sequel for the superhero film "Thor" this coming July 2013.
It is also reported that the director for the first movie Kenneth Branagh, will not be returning for the yet to be titled sequel, while Chris Hemsworth will reprise as Thor. At the film's premiere in Los Angeles a few months back, Branagh was seen to be hesitant when questioned on a future "Thor" sequel. "You hear about people saving things for film two or three, I don't understand that at all. I put it all in there if I thought it'd help the film be better. You can think of stuff for two or three later, if you get the chance to do them. But you won't if one isn't good enough." That puts the sequel only a couple months behind "Iron Man 3", another Marvel film currently slated for a May 2013 release. In the meantime, the God of Thunder will appear in the Joss Whedon-directed ensemble superhero movie "The Avengers", alongside Captain America, Iron Man and The Hulk, next year.
