2 Apr – It looks like the world will never get enough of non-stop action sequences at the theatres as "G. I. Joe: Retaliation" ruled the box office in first place last weekend from 28 to 31 March in the United States, Malaysia and Singapore! Jon M. Chu's sequel to "G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra" features a mostly different cast in the continuing battle against their mortal enemy Cobra and Zartan. The latter is impersonating the President of the United States, forcing the Joes to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. Trailing behind the blockbuster film is another film that made it into all three countries' box offices, which is Dreamworks' animated family comedy "The Croods". In Malaysia and Singapore, "Ip Man – The Final Fight" managed to snag third place in spite of the Hollywood competition.
In the US, the third place went to a different movie, which was Tyler Perry's "Temptation: Confessions Of A Marriage Counselor". The new film from well-known director Tyler Perry of movies like "Madea's Family Reunion", Why did I Get Married" and "Good Deeds", tells of an ambitious married woman's temptation by a handsome billionaire that leads to betrayal, recklessness, and forever alters the course of her life. Other new movies that opened over the week in Malaysia are "Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga", "Chennaiyil Oru Naal", "Himmatwala", "Anushthaana" "The Crowbar" and "Sembunyi: Amukan Azazil". Other new movies that opened over the week in Singapore are "The Host", "Midnight's Children" and "Himmatwala".
