9 Jun – After being passed on by three different directors, the post-apocalyptic fantasy horror novel, "The Stand" by Stephen King finally found its way to a new director, Josh Boone who is willing to take up the challenge of turning it into a 3-hour epic movie. The director of "The Fault In Our Stars" told Vulture that "We're going do a one 3-hour, R-rated version with an amazing A-list cast across the board. Every single one of those characters will be somebody you recognize and somebody you can relate to and it's gonna be awesome."
"The Stand" was once adapted into a television miniseries directed by Mick Garris in 1994 starring Gary Sinise, Miguel Ferrer, Rob Lowe, Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Jamey Sheridan, Molly Ringwald and more. The series went on to win several Emmy Awards. So far it has been confirmed by Boone that Nat Wolff, one of the cast of "The Fault In Our Stars" will be part of the project.
