15 Dec – While "Kil" was recently awarded Best Film at the 26th Malaysia Film Festival, its director Nik Amir Mustapha wants to achieve higher success with his upcoming movie, "Terbaik Dari Langit".
The director promises that "Terbaik Dari Langit" is different from other commercial Malay movies, as he wishes to bring the local movie industry back to life.
"When compared to the success of "Kil", I want more for this movie", says the director.
"Most importantly, from the industry's current state, if we look at the collection from FINAS, it is not a lot. From the start, the concept for this movie is to look for something that appeals to the audience but not commercialized."
Nik also added that he is always working hard to produce a movie that showcases the Malaysian culture on the silver screen and continues to contribute to the country's film industry.
Meanwhile Astro Shaw Executive Producer, Najwa Abu Bakar, hopes for the movie to be the best closing film for 2014 as well as Astro Shaw.
"This year Nik achieved success for "Kil". For "Terbaik Dari Langit", we put our trust in the movie's talented cast. We hope for the movie to get a positive reception and that it will bring audiences back into the cinemas."
The movie's cast is made up of talented actors such as Bront Palarae, Eidil Putra, Amerul Affendi, Nadiya Nisaa, Megat Sharizal, Sharifah Amani and Siti Saleha.
Prior to its release in Malaysia, the movie had its international premiere at this year's Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), while also competing in the festival's Asian Future category.
"Terbaik Dari Langit" makes its nationwide debut on 25 December 2014.
