6 Sep – The writer behind the 2012 blockbuster film "The Hunger Games", Billy Ray is in charge of the remake of the 2009 Oscar-winning Argentine crime thriller film, "The Secret in Their Eyes" with Julia Roberts, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Gwyneth Paltrow in main roles. According to Deadline, "12 Years A Slave" actor, Chiwetel Ejiofor has been cast to play the male lead of the remake, a former MI-5 agent who returns to Boston on a task force with the FBI while Roberts is cast as his friend and former partner. Hollywood Reporter reported that initially Roberts' role was meant to be a man, but Billy Ray specially rewrote the script for the actress. Meanwhile, "Iron Man" actress, Gwyneth Paltrow plays the main female role opposite Ejiofor. The original "The Secret in Their Eyes" film won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 82nd Academy Awards surpassing Argentine box office by Leonardo Favio's 1975 classic "Nazareno Cruz and the Wolf" in 2010.
The film will be a reunion between Roberts and Paltrow who both appeared in Steven Spielberg's 1991 film, "Hook". Since the movie is still in early production stages, no released date has been announced.
