14 Apr – English actor Benedict Cumberbatch is up for another voice role, this time in the form of the titular yuletide-loathing character of "The Grinch" . The news was announced recently by animation studio Illumination ("Despicable Me", "Minions"), according to Entertainment Weekly, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Pete Candeland and Yarrow Cheney will be directing the animation movie for Illumination Studios and Universal Pictures. The script is penned by writer Michael LeSieur based on Dr. Seuss' book, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", which tells the story of how the Grinch devises a plan to ruin Christmas for the residents of Whoville. "The Grinch" is set to open in North America on 10 November 2017. Back in 2000, actor Jim Carrey played the titular Grinch in the live-action movie, "The Grinch", by Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.
Meanwhile, in 2018, Cumberbatch is once again voicing an animated character, only this time as the tiger Shere Khan in Warner Bros. "Jungle Book". Fans don't have to wait long to see the actor on the big screen, however, as Cumberbatch is starring in "Marvel's Doctor Strange", set for release 3 November 2016. (Photo source: MetroUK)
