Steven Yeun from "The Walking Dead" lands a lead movie role

Yeun, one of the lead stars of "The Walking Dead", lands a lead role in a movie.

19 Mar – Steven Yeun has boarded the "Mayhem" bandwagon together with Samara Weaving.

"Mayhem" is a sci-fi action thriller directed by "Everly" helmsman Joe Lynch and the production banner behind the TV hit series, "The Walking Dead", Circle of Confusion, will produce the film.

The movie is about a virus that makes people behave impulsively, which infects a corporate law office the very day Yeun's character is wrongfully fired. He then needs to find a way out of his quarantined office to survive.

"It's not every day you get to throw action, sci-fi, horror, drama and even satire in the genre blender and hit puree, but Matias' script, combined with a gung-ho cast and crew - especially Steven and Samara - will make for a deliciously dangerous and exciting cinematic smoothie ... with a hell of a kick," says Lynch.

The film will begin principal photography later this month in Belgrade, Serbia.

Yeun also starred in 2014 sci-fi indie movie, "I Origins".

Weaving, on the other hand, is a rising actress and the niece of actor Hugo Weaving ("The Matrix") who started her career with the Australian soap drama "Home and Away".
