Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt to handle divorce privately

Famous couple Brangelina shook the world with their split last September.

10 Jan – It has been months since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, and now the former powerhouse couple has released a joint statement regarding their divorce.

This might be the last we hear of it as both the Hollywood stars have agreed to settle the case out of the limelight, according to The Associated Press.

"The parties and their counsel have signed agreements to preserve the privacy rights of their children and family by keeping all court documents confidential," their official statement read.

A private judge will be engaged to "make any necessary legal decisions and to facilitate the expeditious resolution of any remaining issues".

While dividing their assets, which reportedly come up to nearly USD500 million, may not be that tough on the couple, what would be tough are the custody arrangements for their six children – three of whom are adopted.

Jolie had been seeking for full custody while Pitt sought to seal custody records in the case.

News of the couple's divorce first broke in September 2016, only two years since they finally decided to tie the knot with each other.

Following their divorce announcement, both had been shying away from the media, though Jolie can be expected to make a public appearance again when her Cambodian-filmed movie "First They Killed My Father" gets released this year. Pitt was most recently seen attending the Golden Globes Awards sans his family.
