15 Jan - As it was expected, AI has now found another victim in a French woman, who thinks she has been interacting with the Hollywood A-lister and former heartthrob Brad Pitt.

A 53-year-old woman named Anne recently revealed that she has lost USD 850,000 in a scam after thinking she was in a long-term relationship with the "Bullet Train" star, which started when she was contacted by someone claiming to be Pitt's mother Jane, who told her that her son needed someone like Anne.

The communication lasted for more than a year.

"At first I said to myself that it was fake, that it's ridiculous," Anne explained on a French TV show. "But I'm not used to social media and I didn't really understand what was happening to me."

Anne also received personalised photos and messages which were actually AI-generated to make her believe the hoax, and coerced her into sending the huge amount for a supposed kidney treatment.

She claimed to have been told that Pitt was unable to access his bank accounts due to his high-profile divorce from Angelina Jolie.

Anne only realised she had been conned after she saw reports about Pitt's new relationship with Ines de Ramon.

"I ask myself why they chose me to do such harm like this? I've never harmed anyone. These people deserve hell," she added.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the story has now resulted in a wave of harassment against the woman, which prompted the network to withdraw it from broadcast.

It is noted that netizens have been expressing their surprise over the scam seeing that the supposed "AI-generated" photos were "not even good to begin with" and looked more like "Picsart" rather than AI, as one netizen said.
