Fan Bingbing appointed 70th Cannes Film Festival jury


Fan Bingbing will be part of the Cannes Film Festival jury panel.

26 Apr - It was revealed that Fan Bingbing has been appointed to be a part of the panel of jury for the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.

As reported on Tencent, the "I Am Not Madame Bovary" actress shared the good news online, saying, "Thank you to the Cannes Film Festival organisation for the recognition. This is the highest temple of film arts. To be able to be one of the judges of the 70th festival, I am both honoured and pressured."

Fan stated that she will use the opportunity to learn more, and to enjoy watching the world's best films of the year.

Joining this year's panel, chaired by Spanish director Pedro Almodovar ("All About My Mother") are Hollywood stars Jessica Chastain and Will Smith, music composer Gabriel Yared, director Paolo Sorrentino, Korean director Park Chan-wook, director-screenwriter Agnes Jaoui, and "Toni Erdmann" director Maren Ade.

The upcoming festival will be held beginning 17 May.
