22 Dec - Tom Hardy will not be the only villain getting the bad guy brownie points in the upcoming "Spider-Man" villain spin-off film. While previous reports have confirmed that Hardy would be playing the titular role, and then Michelle Williams ("Manchester By The Sea") was confirmed as the female lead, now a report from Screenrant says that Williams will in fact be playing the character of Anne Weying, a.k.a. She-Venom. According to the comic books, Anne Weying is Eddie Brock a.k.a. Venom's ex-wife who has sort of love-hate relationship with him. Weying is a successful lawyer and she eventually goes down a dark an emotional part turning her into The Bride of Venom. Production on the R-rated film has already started, but very little details on the plot have been revealed thus far including if "Venom" will exist in the same universe as "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and in any way be involved in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe featuring the Avengers. Still, "Venom" seems to be a pretty interesting movie already thanks to its confirmed lineup of supporting actors; Riz Ahmed ("Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"), Jenny Slate ("Gifted") and Woody Harrelson ("The Hunger Games"). "Venom" is currently slated for 4 October 2018.
