5 Mar - After taking a break in 2018, Thai Film Festival is back for its second edition in Malaysia this March. Thai Film Festival 2019 is set to be held from this 21 to 27 March at GSC Pavilion KL, GSC Mid Valley, GSC 1 Utama and GSC Gurney Plaza Penang. During the press conference held earlier today, H.E. Mr. Narong Sasitorn, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, said that as a "treat" for Malaysian fans, the film festival will be bringing the director, lead actor and lead actress of "Bike Man" down for a meet and greet in KL.
At the same time, director Pruksa Amaruji will be holding a small session on filmmaking, open to local filmmakers, producers, students. Seats are limited as it is only open to a crowd of 10 to 15 people. Afterwards, the cast and director will be attending the by invitation only special screening of "Bike Man" at GSC Pavilion, Hall 3, from 1pm onwards. Aside from "Bike Man", there will be six other movies to be screened at the film festival, namely "2,215", "App War", "Premika", "Homestay", "The Promise" and "The Pool". As mentioned by Mr. Amnat Phalapleewan and Miss Nutta Vasantasingh, Malaysian fans will be able to catch two award-winning Thai movies at this year's festival as "2,215" won Best Documentary and Best Original Song while "Homestay" won Best Supporting Actress, Best Film Editing and Best Visual Effects at the recently held 28th Suphannahong National Film Awards.
All screenings during the Thai Film Festival are free.
