13 May – "Gunpowder Milkshake" has received an extra boost of star power, this time in the form of Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh. Highly known for her martial arts skills, the actress joins confirmed cast Karen Gillan, Lena Headey, Paul Giamatti and Angela Bassett in the female-driven high-concept assassin movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Yeoh's character is part of a sisterhood of secret arms dealers, who come together to help the mother-daughter assassin duo played by Headey and Gillan when things go south for the two. So far, there are no details yet on Giamatti's and Bassett's characters. Navot Papushado is writing and directing the StudioCanal and The Picture Company project, which is slated to begin production in Berlin this early June. This is just one of the Hollywood titles Yeoh has lined up as she will also be seen in all four "Avatar" sequels as well as "Last Christmas", which reunites her with her "Crazy Rich Asians" co-star Henry Golding, and will be leading a "Star Trek" spinoff TV series focused on her character Captain Philippa Georgiou. As for her co-stars, Headey can currently be seen in the final season of "Game of Thrones", Giamatti will be seen in next year's "Jungle Cruise", and Gillan and Bassett can both be seen in "Avengers: Endgame", which is currently the second highest-grossing movie of all time.
