7 May – With "Avengers: Endgame" breaking records at the international level, there's no surprise that it's also setting some impressive records right here in Malaysia within just two weeks of screening. It has officially become the first ever movie to cross the RM70 million mark at the local box office, Walt Disney Malaysia tells Cinema Online. This means that it has beaten "Avengers: Infinity War" to become the highest-grossing movie in the country. It also takes away another record from "Avengers: Infinity War", which is setting the #1 biggest opening day of all time for Malaysia. Aside from that, "Avengers: Endgame" now also holds the record for the biggest opening weekend of all-time in Malaysia at RM41.6 million. It took the superhero movie only 5 days to breach the RM40 million mark, making it the fastest movie to do so at the local box office. Its biggest single day box office sales were RM10 million, achieved on the Saturday of its opening weekend. Last weekend marked the second consecutive #1 for "Avengers: Endgame" at Malaysia's weekend box office. Globally, the movie is now the second highest-grossing movie of all time, having collected USD2 billion in a record-breaking 11 days. This seems to be a fitting farewell for one of the wealthiest – not to mention, iconic – characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), namely Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man. Portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., the superhero's solo movie in 2008 was what kickstarted the MCU's "Infinity Saga", which spans 22 movies in over a decade.
