12 Jul - Actor Henry Cavill and singer Dua Lipa are among the star-studded cast of the upcoming Matthew Vaughn spy franchise, "Argylle". The two stars will be joining the likes of Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Catherine O'Hara and Bryce Dallas Howard among others in the upcoming project that will begin shooting in Europe next month. It will also mark pop star Dua Lipa's acting debut, with the singer set to provide original music for the movie as well.
The movie will be based on Ellie Conway's upcoming spy novel of the same name, which follows "world's greatest spy" Argylle as he is caught up in a globe-trotting adventure. "When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming's books of the 50s. This is going to reinvent the spy genre," said Vaughn, who is also set to begin promotion on his upcoming prequel to the "Kingsman" franchise, "The King's Man". It was also reported that the film is set to be the first of at least three movies in the franchise. On the other hand, Cavill's Netflix series, "The Witcher" is set to stream its second season in December.
