13 Apr – Pete Davidson recently revealed the reason why he decided to say yes to being a part of DC's upcoming movie, "The Suicide Squad" - and we can confidently say that it's a very Pete Davidson answer that one could think of. The "SNL" star and stand-up comedian, who is cast in the movie as Blackguard, one of the members of the said squad, revealed to late night host Jimmy Fallon that he has always been a fan of the film's director James Gunn, most known for his work on Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" series. "I got a call from James Gunn, he was like, 'There's this role for you in the movie. And you play a guy named Richard Hertz.' And I was like 'Dick Hertz. I'm in!' Yeah, that's his real name. My character's name is Dick Hertz. And I was like, 'Dude, that's the greatest. That's so awesome'." "And yeah, he was nice enough to let me be in it. It's a thing I still can't believe, it's like ridiculous," he added.
So yes, you read it right. Ariana Grande's former squeeze joined the squad in order not only to work with his favourite director, but to also have a character whose name involved a penis joke. Pete Davidson's Blackguard is one of the many newcomers joining the franchise alongside original cast members of David Ayer's 2016 movie of the same name like Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang). The upcoming movie is set to be released in theatres and HBO Max simultaneously on 4 August.
