Liam Neeson: It'll either finish my career or bring it in another direction

11 Feb – Liam Neeson recently admitted that he has been approached to star in the revival of Leslie Nielsen's hit action-comedy, "The Naked Gun".

In an interview with People, the action star shared that he was contacted by both comedian and producer Seth MacFarlane and Paramount Studios about resurrecting the said franchise.

"It'll either finish my career or bring it in another direction, I honestly don't know," he said, jokingly.

It is noted that MacFarlane, known for shows like "Family Guy", "Ted" and "American Dad", has been trying to revive the comedy movie for a while now.

The two have been friends since Neeson appeared in several of his projects, including playing a villain in MacFarlane's "A Million Ways to Die in the West".

As for his future in action films, Neeson, who is turning 70, stated, "There's a couple more I'm going to do this year - hopefully, COVID allowing us - there's a couple in the pipeline and then I think that will probably be it. Well, unless I'm on a Zimmer frame or something."

"The Naked Gun" franchise started in 1988 with a first film that spoofed cop movies. Following its success, the film spawned two sequels - "The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear" in 1991 and "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult" in 1994.
