12 Jun - After much anticipation, Astro Shaw revealed that the live-action adaptation of the iconic cartoon superhero "Keluang Man" has finally started production in early May.

Filming was revealed to have commenced around Klang Valley, as well as Kluang, Johor, the same location synonymous with the original animation.

Astro Shaw also revealed several other new additions aside from the previously announced actors like Nas Muammar Zar aka Nas-T, Remy Ishak, Anwaar Beg Moghal and Rosyam Nor. These additions include Amelia Henderson, Halim Othman, Dennis Yin, and Miss Malaysia 2019, Shweta Sekhon. More cast members will be announced soon.

The film is helmed by Anwari Ashraf of "Projek: High Council" fame, who is also penning the script. It is a story about a psychiatric patient who becomes a masked vigilante superhero.

"Keluang Man" Executive Producer and Head of Astro Shaw, Raja Jastina Raja Arshad stated, "After six months of preparation, it is now time for us to start the filming phase. Everyone involved in making Keluang Man a success is the best in the industry at the moment. We place great emphasis on quality and ensure that we can give 'justice' to this iconic superhero of Malaysian pride. We are also proud to officially introduce the other actors involved in the movie Keluang Man. However, we still have some surprises in store to be announced later!"
