22 Jan – Filmmaker Tunku Mona Riza Tunku Khalid is one of three Malaysians who has been listed in the Forbes 50 Over 50: Asia 2024.

The Current Pictures producer is joined by executive director of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, Tan Sri Dr Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria and lawyer Ambiga Sreenevasan, who are named in the list, which features 50 great women across Asia Pacific who proved that the years after 50 are the new golden age.

According to Forbes, the listed women come from 14 countries and regions involving dozens of job sectors. Their influence includes the world of fashion, pharmacy, finance and so on.

Tunku Mona previously won the Best Director trophy at the 2017 Malaysian Film Festival through the film "Redha", which depicts the challenges of raising an autistic child. She also became the first Malay female director who helmed a Chinese-language film, "Rain Town".

Among other well-known names listed include Lisa Lu, Christine Hakim, Kylie Minogue, and writer Veeraporn Nitiprapha.
