Before setting for the title "Heroes," the film was originally named "Mera Bharat Mahaan," which literary means "My India Is Great". The title was later changed to avoid making the movie sound like a patriotic film. Pairing Salman Khan and Preity Zinta for their fifth film together, "Heroes" is about a group of filmmaking students who set out looking for inspiration to make a documentary for their final project.
