Burying The Ex

Max is a meek man, so much so he lets his girlfriend Evelyn control every aspect of his life. Controlling and possessive as she is, Evelyn gets jealous over everything, including Max`s friendship with an attractive ice cream shop owner named Olivia. Max realises he has had enough and decides to break up with Evelyn, but before he could, a bus runs her over and kills her. With Evelyn dead and buried, Max is seemingly on his way to a happy life with Olivia. That is until Evelyn returns - now Max has a controlling, possessive and undead girlfriend.

The Good, the Bad and B-Movie Horror:

• A B-movie style horror movie that starts off on the right eager foot with its sense of comedy but eventually ends with a yawn due to the ineffectiveness of the plot.

• Anton Yelchin's character here is almost exactly like his character portrayed in "Odd Thomas", where he plays boyfriend material who is just as odd, naive and innocent.

• The cast feels really mismatched and grossly stereotyped. It's hardly believable that someone as hot and a tree-hugger like Ashley Greene would even go out with Yelchin's character (who works in a shop selling horror props and costumes). Alexandra Daddario is also too hot and cool (owns her own ice cream shop) to be a stammering mess that is crushing on Yelchin. Only Yelchin's best friend/half-brother played by Oliver Cooper manages to come across as believable, but even then, seems like his character was just added on to play the 'gross-best-friend' for the sake of laughs.
