24 Jan – Despite being an award-winning singer-songwriter, it probably comes as no surprise that Canadian YouTube star Justin Bieber is not satisfied, considering his current image as a teeny-bopper, which is why he is said to be eyeing remakes of feature-length films, particularly 1996's "Fear", which starred former rapper-turned-Oscar nominated actor, Mark Wahlberg, according to Movie Web.
The pop star has previously appeared on an episode in the hit television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Cubed", not to mention his 2011 concert documentary film "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never" as himself. Although there are currently no plans to remake "Fear", it is said that Justin Bieber is obsessed with the movie. The James Foley directorial saw Mark Wahlberg playing Reese Witherspoon's psychotic boyfriend who torments both her and her family with his obsession. Throughout the course of its runtime, his David McCall rapes Witherspoon's Nicole best friend, who is played by Alyssa Milano, beheads a beloved family pet, carves her name onto his chest, breaks the neck of a family friend, beats himself up, and threatens to shoot her father, played by William Petersen, point blank. The reason for 18-year-old Bieber's interest in a proposed remake, is that he hopes it will give his image and career the same edge it gave Mark Wahlberg back in 1996, which was a time when most thought that the one-hit wonder actor would quietly disappear. Sources believed that Bieber will pursue the rights to remaking "Fear", using the film as his launching board into feature film acting. However, it is almost a given that this new "Fear", should it be remade, will most likely be tamed down for a PG-13 rating, considering Bieber's age.
