30 Apr - On 25 to 27 April, the Weekend Box Office chart in both Malaysia and Singapore were in favour for the action-parkour-heavy film "Brick Mansions", starring the late Paul Walker. The film also stars Parkour founder David Belle and Wu-Tang Clan member RZA, about an undercover Detroit cop who navigates a dangerous neighborhood that's surrounded by a containment wall with the help of an ex-con in order to bring down a crime lord and his plot to devastate the entire city. The remake of French film "District 13" even snagged the first place status over films like "Iceman 3D" and "Rio 2" in Malaysia, and "Transcendence" and "The Other Woman" in Singapore.
As for the weekend box office chart for the United States, "The Other Woman", starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton is the most popular movie watched over the weekend, beating movies like "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Heaven is Real" to second and third place. Directed by Nick Cassavetes of "The Notebook", "The Other Woman" is a comedy about a woman who discovered her boyfriend is married, and soon meets the wife he's been cheating on. And when yet another affair is discovered, all three women team up to plot mutual revenge on the three-timing cheater. Other new movies that opened in Malaysia last week are "That Demon Within", "Muppets Most Wanted", "Sniper", "The Quiet Ones", "Ennamo Nadakuthu", " Kaanchi" and "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum". Other new movies that opened in Singapore last week are "Oculus", "She Devil", "Muppets Most Wanted", "Kaanchi" and "Vaayai Moodie Pesavum".
