Saiful Apek & David Teo at ease

Comedian Saiful Apek wants to put his spat with David Teo behind them.

18 May – Local comedian Saiful Apek's financial dispute with the producer of Metrowealth International Group (MIG), David Teo, has finally come to an end, with the former's claims recently dismissed from the courts, and the actor is looking to bury the hatchet over the misunderstanding.

According to Mohd Saifulazam Mohamed Yusoff, better known as Saiful Apek, he was actually not aware that the courts had dismissed his claim for the RM200,000 that was owned to him by Teo for the comedy films "Anak Mami" and "Lady Boss" back in 2005.

"I was not told that the case was closed by my lawyers and only knew about it when David Teo made a statement on the programme "Melodi" with the evidence," said Saiful to reporters during a press conference at the Tease Bar & Restaurant on Tuesday.

"I would not have raised the issue if it wasn't true, but perhaps I was not well-versed in the terms of the contracts that were given to me," continued an apologetic Saiful who had publicly attacked Teo online, shortly after the passing of the late Bob Kuman.

However, Saiful revealed that he would be forming the Kebajikan Eksklusif Masyarakat Artis dan Seni (KEMAS) bureau to protect the interest of artists and crews in contractual affairs of any future productions.

Saiful said that he had the support of some 50 artists and crew to form the bureau.

"I've told 50 people, including those from the production crew to those in catering and this includes celebrities that have given their support to me via my Twitter and also through SMS," he said.
