Perak cinemas closed til 3 June


The late Sultan of Perak, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah.

29 May – In respect to the passing of Sultan of Perak, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah, cinemas in the state of Perak will be closed until Tuesday, 3 June 2014.

Cinema operators with cinemas in the state have closed their cinemas based on the official notice issued by the state government with instructions that as a sign of mourning, all entertainment premises must not operate for 7 days starting 28 May onwards.

The respective cinemas that has been closed since yesterday are; Lotus Five Star (LFS) Cinemas; LFS Kampar, LFS Seri Iskandar, LFS Seri Kinta, Golden Screen Cinemas' (GSC); GSC Ipoh Parade, M-Cat Box Office (MBO) Cinemas; MBO Sitiawan, MBO Taiping Sentral, MBO Teluk Intan and TGV Cinemas; TGV Station 18 and TGV Kinta City.

Other cinemas in the state also expected to have closed but have not issued official notices yet are, MY Cinema Bagan Serai and MY Cinema Teluk Intan.

The cinemas will resume their operations on Tuesday, 3 June 2014.

All the effected cinemas will be running a refund exercise for ticket holders who would have to claim their refunds 7 days from the date of their purchase at their respective cinemas.
