11 Mar – Johnny Depp is reportedly suffering from a hand injury and is temporarily unable to continue shooting as Captain Jack Sparrow for the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie until he is fully recovered. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depp injured his hand over the weekend in Australia where he is currently filming "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", and is now taking his flight back to the United States for surgery. The film which has already began shooting since last month is expected to be affected for the next few weeks due to Depp's absence. However, a spokesperson from Disney has confirmed that the official release date for the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie will remain unchanged, which is expected for the big screen on July 7, 2017. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies" is directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning. The film also stars Javier Bardem as the villain and Brenton Thwaites as a British soldier.
