6 Aug – Director Ghaz Abu Bakar revealed that his upcoming movie, "Polis Evo", will be packed with action. The movie, which is his second action movie, will focus more on action and will feature less comedic scenes, according to the director. "My latest movie is about 80 percent action and I have cut down on the comedic scenes even though Zizan Razak is starring in it," said Ghaz during the movie's launch at Hard Rock Café, KL, recently.
Ghaz also revealed that the original script was penned in a way to further develop the antagonist role played by Ayie Hushairi. "One of the reasons why I penned the script so is to make Ayie's villainous character stand out as more than just a typical bad guy. Other than that, I also wanted to showcase the traditional elements of Terengganu." He added, "So that people will get to see a difference in this action movie, which is the perception of our culture."
Produced by Astro Shaw, the movie follows two policemen, Khai and Sani, who have very different personalities. However, they have to put aside their differences when they have to work together in a mission to defeat a drug trafficking syndicate. The movie features Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak as leads, while the rest of the cast is made up of other well-known actors such as Nora Danish, the late Harun Salim Bachik, Wan Hanafi Su, Ayie Hushairi and more. "Polis Evo" raids the silver screens nationwide this 17 September.
