Bollywood remake of "Forrest Gump" shares first look photo

The Bollywood remake of Tom Hank's "Forrest Gump" is currently filming.

19 Nov – Earlier this year, it was reported that Hollywood drama film "Forrest Gump" was getting a Bollywood remake, starring none other than Aamir Khan.

The Indian superstar has posted a first look photo of the remake, "Laal Singh Chaddha", on his social media, showing him sporting a full beard and mustache as the title character.

Comments left by fans show favourable response to the movie. Most are anticipating the actor's performance, as he has demonstrated his wide acting range in his previous portrayal of various characters such as a humanoid alien in "PK" and a former wrestler in "Dangal".

Interestingly, while in "Dangal" he had to gain more than 20 kilograms for his role, for this remake it's the opposite as he had to lose 20 kilograms to play the younger version of Laal Singh Chaddha.

Aamir Khan shared on his Instagram this first look photo of him in character
as Laal Singh Chaddha.

"Laal Singh Chaddha", set for release in Christmas 2020, is currently filming in Punjab. According to Hindustan Times, filming will also take place in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and several towns and villages nearby.

The actor's own Aamir Khan Productions is co-producing alongside Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

Directed by Advait Chandan, other members of the cast include Kareena Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu and Mona Singh.

BollywoodLife reported that Aamir is also hoping to feature Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in the scene where his character is sitting on a bench (as Tom Hanks' Forrest Gump did in the original 1994 movie).

Reportedly, Shah Rukh has agreed while Salman hasn't, but if the latter says yes, it will mark the first time all three Khans appear together on the big screen.
