13 Sep – Ahmad Idham was revealed to have resigned as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). The news was confirmed by FINAS' Chairman Zakaria Abdul Hamid, stating that Idham expressed his intention of leaving the job back on Thursday (9 September). "Of course, we were both saddened and happy. Saddened by it, as we had to part from our commander-in-chief. There would be a sense of loss after working together to mobilise and develop the creative arts industry in the pandemic era," he said. However, Zakaria added that they are also happy as Idham's departure is due to a career leap. Rumour has it that the filmmaker will be holding an important position in a new ministry where he will be assigned duties relating to the world of art and culture. Ahmad Idham started working in FINAS on 14 March 2019 before resigning in December the same year. He later returned to his job on 5 June 2020.
