The upcoming project will be helmed by James Mangold - taking over the reins from Steven Spielberg who will still be producing the said movie alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel.

"Indiana Jones 5", which has yet to reveal its official title, is scheduled for release in July 2022.

Mikkelsen previously made headlines after he was revealed to be the replacement for Johnny Depp's character Gellert Grindelwald for the third instalment of JK Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts". Depp was previously removed due to his ongoing abuse case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
