16 Apr – Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is set to join another big franchise after "Fantastic Beasts", having recently inked a deal to be a part of "Indiana Jones 5". The actor will be joining veteran actor Harrison Ford, who will be reprising his role as the titular adventurous archaeologist, as well as another new addition Phoebe Waller-Bridge, whose role in the movie has also yet to be revealed. No news as to what character Mikkelsen will play in the movie, though the actor also confirmed the good news on Instagram with a photo of Indiana Jones, and captioning it, "New adventure."
The upcoming project will be helmed by James Mangold - taking over the reins from Steven Spielberg who will still be producing the said movie alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel. "Indiana Jones 5", which has yet to reveal its official title, is scheduled for release in July 2022. Mikkelsen previously made headlines after he was revealed to be the replacement for Johnny Depp's character Gellert Grindelwald for the third instalment of JK Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts". Depp was previously removed due to his ongoing abuse case against ex-wife Amber Heard.
