21 Jul – DC's upcoming superhero movie, "Blue Beetle" has recently wrapped up production. The news was shared by director Angel Manuel Soto, who took to Instagram to announce the news with a photo of him sitting on the steps of an old house in Puerto Rico, writing, "It's a wrap." On the other hand, lead star Xolo Mariduena posted a photo of him and the director on social media and expressed, "CIAO BACALAO. DONE WITH BLUE BEETLE. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR. Thank you to all the cast and crew who made this possible. I'm so proud of what everyone accomplished and even more proud to call us all a family! Thank you Ángel for trusting me to bring Jaime to life."
The "Blue Beetle", which stars the "Cobra Kai" actor, tells the story of Jaime Reyes, who takes on the mantle of the Blue Beetle, and whose power comes from a scarab that grafted itself to the base of his spine, allowing him to have a suit of extraterrestrial armour that can enhance his speed and strength among others. The upcoming movie, which co-stars Susan Sarandon, Harvey Guillén, Bruna Marquezine, and George Lopez among others, will be released in theatres 18 August 2023.
Xolo Mariduena plays Jaime Reyes, whose power comes from a blue scarab beetle
