15 Nov – Following the success of Part 1 of "Ponniyin Selvan", it was revealed that Mani Ratnam is doing several reshoots before releasing the second part. As reported on Times of India, the director has now decided to retake a few important scenes from the second part, and filming reportedly will take around seven to ten days. It is noted that the second part has already begun production work last month.
Part 2 of the epic will be released on 28 April 2023. The first movie was released in late September, and grossed more than USD 62 million at the box office. The movie boasted a star-studded cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the leads.
