28 Nov - There is no getting out of jail for Sean "Diddy" Combs as the rapper has failed to secure a bail for the third time. On 27 November, Judge Arun Subramaniam denied once again his legal team's attempt at offering USD 50 million bond, which was supported by "equity in his homes, the promise of security monitoring and assurance that he would not interfere with investigations surrounding his charges," according to Variety.
Judge Subramaniam ruled after weighing the conditions of ensuring safety in community, saying that Diddy have contacted witnesses even after his grand jury testimony in June. He also stated that there is evidence that the rapper violated Bureau of Prisons regulations during his pretrial detention by using several means to make calls that are difficult to trace including paying other inmates to do so.
"His willingness to skirt BOP rules in a way that would make it more difficult for his communications to be monitored is strong evidence that the Court cannot be 'reasonably assured' as to the sufficiency of any conditions of release," said the judge. Diddy is currently detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York following his arrest in September for racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
