Kimiko Yo, Tsurube Shofukutei, and Eita in "Dear Doctor".

26 Apr – Cinema Online is proud to be the official media partner for the upcoming 7th Japanese Film Festival 2010, scheduled to take place at GSC Mid Valley and GSC 1 Utama from 17 to 21 June, and GSC Gurney Plaza from 25 to 27 June. The annual Japanese Film Festival at Golden Screen Cinemas is held in partnership with Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur.

This year, the spotlight will be on director Miwa Nishikawa's drama "Dear Doctor", a film based on her own novel about a young medical intern (Eita) who uncovers new methods not learnt in medical school through town doctor (Tsurube Shofukutei) in a remote village. However, when a secret emerges about the town doctor, the villagers must come to grips with this new knowledge.

In 2009, the film was awarded Best Film at the 31st Yokohama Film Festival, Best Director at the 34th Hochi Film Award and Best Actor for Tsurube Shofukutei at the 22nd Nikkan Sports Film Awards. Meanwhile, the other seven selected Japanese films will be announced later on.
