1 Nov – The recent high definition featurette released by Paramount for Brad Bird's "Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol" provides behind-the-scenes look into the two biggest scenes in the movie, the Burj Khalifa scene and the dramatic chase in the middle of a huge sandstorm, according to First Showing.
Fans of the series may have already known that the star lead, Tom Cruise, performs his own stunts for the movies. This featurette will enable viewers to see the 49-year-old get rigged up before flying in every direction over the sides of the world's tallest building. Contrary to the current trend of filming in 3D, Bird chose to film "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" using IMAX cameras, which viewers can see in the featurette. Brad Bird is largely known for his efforts in animated films such as "The Iron Giant", Pixar's "Ratatouille" and "The Incredibles". His venture into the "Mission Impossible" franchise will mark the film as the fourth instalment, which stars Tom Cruise as Agent Ethan Hunt along with a supporting cast including Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway, Tom Wilkinson, Paula Patton, Léa Seydoux and Michael Nyqvist. Producer J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek") crafted the story with Cruise, while the screenplay is penned by writers André Nemec and Josh Applebaum, both behind television series like "Alias" and "Life on Mars". "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" will be out in both Malaysia and Singapore cinemas on 15 December this year.
