4 Apr – In a recent announcement made by Hammer Film Productions and their parent company, Exclusive Media, the next instalment of Hammer and Talisman's "The Woman In Black" is currently in development, to be based on Susan Hill's "The Woman in Black: Angels Of Death", which continues the story of its predecessor 40 years later, according to Movie Web. The original was also based on Susan Hill's novel of the same name and directed by James Watkins ("Eden Lake"), with Daniel Radcliffe ("Harry Potter") starring in the lead. "The Woman In Black" has become the highest grossing British horror film in the past 20 years, with the worldwide box office record of over US $120 million. However, Radcliffe will not return for the sequel for obvious reasons. "The Woman in Black" was set in the early 1900's, where a young lawyer (Radcliffe) was ordered to travel to a remote corner of country to sort out the papers of a recently deceased client. It is in the eerie setting of Eel Marsh House that he discovers the ghost of The Woman in Black, who the bore her vengeance on him and his son. "The Woman in Black: Angels Of Death" will continue this story four decades later, with focus on a couple who moves into Eel Marsh House and their terrifying encounters with The Woman In Black. The sequel's screenplay was written by Jon Crocker ("Desert Dancer"). According to Simon Oakes, Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media and President & CEO of Hammer Films, "We are proud and honoured to be working with Susan [Hill] again on "The Woman in Black: Angels Of Death", a wonderful new tale every bit as atmospheric and terrifying as its predecessor "The Woman in Black". Currently, there is no director or cast slated for this instalment. "The Woman in Black" was released in Malaysia and Singapore on 1 March and 15 March respectively, and starred Daniel Radcliffe, Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, Sophie Stuckey and Liz White.
