Top 10 cutest movie characters

Who's the cutest of them all?

Po the Kung Fu Panda is returning in all its glorious cuteness (and Kung Fu-ness, of course) in the upcoming "Kung Fu Panda 3".

While we wait for Po and his chubby cheeks to grace the big screen, why don't we take a look at other movie characters that have stolen the show with their adorableness?

It's no easy feat to narrow down the choices given the abundance of cute characters in animated movies, but we have managed to pick our top ten favourites.

Mort ("Madagascar")

Mort the adorable lemur is King Julien's biggest fan, despite the fact that the latter doesn't seem to care much about him. This big-eyed creature could give Tarantino a run for his money when it comes to foot fetish, as Mort loves touching feet and is especially fond of King Julien's feet (due to the fact that they saved his life by kicking a fossa once). While unlucky and pesky most of the time, one can't help but fall into those big, round eyes.

Movie(s) Mort appeared in: "Madagascar" (2005), "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" (2008), "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" (2012), "Penguins of Madagascar" (2014)

Baymax ("Big Hero 6")

"Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion". On a scale of one to ten, this marshmallow-like inflatable robot gets an eleven for his adorableness. Caring, strong, though at times clueless, Baymax makes for the perfect friend, be it for healthcare or for fun. His quirky antics (petting Mochi the cat and calling it "Hairy baby!" is just one example) only add to his cute factor. You will want to keep him in your pocket even when it goes loopy and says, "I'm healthcare, your personal Baymax companion".

Movie(s) Baymax appeared in: "Big Hero 6" (2014)

Bob ("Minions")

Bob stands out from its many other lovable yellow-coloured, pill-shaped fellow minions due to his heterochromia. His different coloured eyes only add on to his adorableness, however. His loving nature also makes him irresistible, just as how he can't resist loving others which include Tim, his teddy bear, and Poochi, a rat he found in the sewer. As a king (he was briefly one in "Minions"), his speech might be unintelligible but he sure knows how to mic drop, anyone will be a loyal subject to that level of cuteness.

Movie(s) Bob appeared in: "Despicable Me" (2010), "Despicable Me 2" (2013), "Minions" (2015)

Agnes ("Despicable Me")

"Does this count as annoying?" There's no shortage of cute characters in the "Despicable Me" franchise. While above we've picked one of Gru's little minions, here we pick one of his little daughters (sorry Margo and Edith, but the babies of the family do often get the most attention). Agnes and her ponytail tug on audiences' heartstrings with her silly questions and very emotive outbursts (upon seeing a unicorn plushie: "It's so fluffy, I'm gonna die!"). You'd just want to cuddle her and never let go.

Movie(s) Agnes appeared in: "Despicable Me" (2010), "Despicable Me 2" (2013)

Private ("Penguins of Madagascar")

The "Madagascar" franchise is also full of adorable creatures, and here's one from the penguin flock. The youngest in the group of four, Private has been adorable from the moment he hatched from his egg whilst watched by the slightly older Skipper, Kowalski and Rico. Short and chubby, the British-accented penguin may be the most inexperienced in the team but sometimes he can be the most reliable when it comes to solving problems. The fact that he looks so huggable could have something to do with it.

Movie(s) Private appeared in: "Madagascar" (2005), "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" (2008), "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" (2012), "Penguins of Madagascar" (2014)

Dennis ("Hotel Transylvania 2")

"Cebause" he is one adorable half-human, half-vampire kiddo! Dennis "Denisovich" Dracula-Loughran is not just the apple of his parents' (Jonathan and Mavis) eyes, his bright curls and big eyes make everyone around him fall for the little guy. The five-year-old may worry his "Vampa" Drac with his lack of supernatural abilities (you would worry too if you're a well-known Dracula but your direct descendant, instead of turning into a bat, only knows how to say "blah blah blah"), but with a face that cute, kid's gonna have an easy life.

Movie(s) Dennis appeared in: "Hotel Transylvania 2" (2015)

Olaf ("Frozen")

Very ironic when you're made of snow but your theme song is about wanting to experience summer. That's just one of the things that make Olaf the snowman arguably the most adorable character in the highly successful movie, "Frozen". Much like Mr. Potato, he can rearrange himself if he were to come apart physically – and still be happy even though his body parts may be placed out of order. The comedic relief sidekick provides plenty of laughter and "aww"-worthy moments alongside princesses Anna and Elsa.

Movie(s) Olaf appeared in: "Frozen" (2013), "Frozen Fever" (2015)

Toothless ("How to Train Your Dragon")

More playful dog than fierce dragon, Toothless is the main protagonist, alongside his rider, Hiccup, in the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise. He is definitely Hiccup's best friend and loyal companion, who will do anything to protect Hiccup. Despite being a Night Fury, the most feared dragon species, he is adorable as a puppy. He likes to play with Hiccup by mimicking the latter's movements. Though don't be mistaken, he can be menacing when provoked.

Movie(s) Toothless appeared in: "How to Train Your Dragon" (2010), "How to Train Your Dragon" (2014)

Puss in Boots ("Shrek")

This kitty's a tricky one. He just may be the cutest character that is the greatest with deception as the swashbuckling cat can switch on his cute mode in a heartbeat, quickly rendering even the greatest of his enemies helpless as he stares up at them with the wide-eyed expression on his furry, little face. When not acting cute, his rogue-like charm will take place, especially when he is seducing the ladies. Don't be fooled by his at times annoying talk, this outlaw kitty has a big heart and cares especially for the orphans.

Movie(s) Puss in Boots appeared in: "Shrek 2" (2004), "Shrek the Third" (2007), "Shrek Forever After" (2010), "Puss in Boots" (2011)

Po ("Kung Fu Panda")

Of course Po has to be on this list! Where else can one find a great warrior that is also a great eater? He may be hefty and loves his buns and noodles just a little too much, but he is also one great Kung Fu fighting panda. Also, just the fact that he's a panda already places him high on the cute list (they're just very adorable, fluffy-looking animals). He may be clumsy at times, but his big heart and determination make him one very lovable movie character.

Movie(s) Po appeared in: "Kung Fu Panda" (2008), "Kung Fu Panda 2" (2011), "Kung Fu Panda 3" (2016)
