5 Jul – "Mat Kilau" keeps breaking one record after another, as it was revealed that the film has now reached RM49.5 million at the domestic box office at time of writing. The news was shared by the director himself, Syamsul Yusof on his social media account, saying that the film is set to surpass the box office record previously set by his previous record-breaker, "Munafik 2". "A good movie will get a good reception from the audience, and a majority of people will appreciate it without being forced," he wrote. "As for the critics, let them be, because that is normal in filmmaking. You as a filmmaker must be smarter than them, one step ahead. It's all good." The said film, which has been in theatres since 23 June, stars Datuk Adi Putra in the titular role, with Beto Kusyairy, Fattah Amin, Datuk Rahim Razali, Datuk Jalauddin Hassan and more.
